Our focus at Mikey & Me is to pull homeless dogs from large city shelters where they have little or no chance of being adopted. We are a small rural shelter and unfortunately we do not have space available to help dogs that are being surrendered by their families.
We suggest doing a Google search for rescue groups that cater to your dog’s specific breed. For example, "Pit Bull Rescue Groups Michigan" or whatever the breed of your dog is. We would also recommend doing similar searches in Ohio and Illinois.
